Six For Sunday: Sounds Of Summer – Summer-y Colours

Hello! How are you all doing? It’s been quite some time since I last posted on SWB! Things are slowly beginning to get back to normal and I know that after this long that can be as difficult to deal with as originally going into lockdown was!

When I was deciding what post to come back with I knew that realistically there was really only ever one option, it had to be one of Steph’s wonderful Six for Sunday posts, so here I am sharing six summer-y coloured books!

Summer-y Colours

I was a little torn about what counts as a summer-y colour, I nearly focused on warm colours like oranges and yellows but then I decided for me summer is just about bright colours so that’s what we have, and nice variety of brightly coloured books!

Starting off with a nice bright yellow! This is one of my current reads although it was temporarily set to the side while I binged some adult crime fiction. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, so I’m hoping once I sit down with this again and get a little further into it this one will capture my attention too!

Not only is this book a combination of bright sky blue and sunshine yellow it even has the word summer in the title! This one has been sitting on my shelves for so long and I’ve still not got around to picking it up, will this summer be the year that changes? Probably not, but if you think I should prioritise it let me know in the comments!

I could have picked any of Lucy’s The Paper & Hearts Society trilogy to fill this prompt, yellow, blue or orange they are all gorgeous bright colours! I’ve gone with the first one though as I’ve not actually read them yet despite owning them all!

Another gorgeously bright book, another I’ve not yet read. I’ve read Laura’s other books (both MG and YA) and loved them so I’ve high hopes for this one when I get to it!

Look at the beautiful cover of this book! The little hint of yellow in the corner like a sunrise! I’m going to shock you now and share that this is a book that I have actually read. I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC and absolutely fell in love with it, I’ve no doubt it will be one of my books of the year and I’m already counting down to the sequel! If you’ve not read it yet I urge you to go pick up a copy!

If Birds Fly Back by Charlie Sorosiak

Finishing off with a book whose cover screams summer to a girl that grew up on the Devon coast where summer meant blue skies, fluffy clouds and dodging the seagulls while wandering along the beach eating an ice cream. I read this book a good few years ago now, I never reviewed it but I remember enjoying it at least!
