It’s time to move another letter down the alphabet for The ABC Book Challenge!
Every couple of weeks I’ll be sharing at least one memorable book with a title beginning with the letter of the week, and one (or more) books currently on my TBR.
I’ll be ignoring any As etc at the beginning of titles

The ABC Book Challenge – V
A Memorable Book…

Viper by Bex Hogan
About the book
Marianne has been training to be the Viper for her entire life – to serve and protect the King and the citizens of The Twelve Isles – but to become the Viper and protect the islands she loves she must find the strength to defeat her father. A new fantasy trilogy perfect for fans of Sarah J Maas.
He will make me a killer.
Or he will have me killed.
That is my destiny.
Seventeen-year-old Marianne is fated to one day become the Viper, defender of the Twelve Isles.
But the reigning Viper stands in her way. Corrupt and merciless, he prowls the seas in his warship, killing with impunity, leaving only pain and suffering in his wake.
He’s the most dangerous man on the ocean . . . and he is Marianne’s father.
She was born to protect the islands. But can she fight for them if it means losing her family, her home, the boy she loves – and perhaps even her life?
A brave heroine. An impossible dilemma. An epic new fantasy trilogy set on the high seas.
I read this, and its follow up Venom in less than 48 hours last year, I absolutely adored both of them! Marianne is a fantastic character and I would die for Bronn! Also Bex is one of the loveliest people in existence!
Be sure to read my Viper and Venom reviews!
A Book On My TBR…

The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson
About the book
In New York Times bestselling author Maureen Johnson’s second novel in the Truly Devious series, there are more twists and turns than Stevie Bell can imagine. No answer is given freely, and someone will pay for the truth with their life.
The Truly Devious case—an unsolved kidnapping and triple murder that rocked Ellingham Academy in 1936—has consumed Stevie for years. It’s the very reason she came to the academy. But then her classmate was murdered, and her parents quickly pull her out of school. For her safety, they say. She must move past this obsession with crime.
Stevie’s willing to do anything to get back to Ellingham, be back with her friends, and solve the Truly Devious case. Even if it means making a deal with the despicable Senator Edward King. And when Stevie finally returns, she also returns to David: the guy she kissed, and the guy who lied about his identity—Edward King’s son.
But larger issues are at play. Where did the murderer hide? What’s the meaning of the riddle Albert Ellingham left behind? And what, exactly, is at stake in the Truly Devious affair? The Ellingham case isn’t just a piece of history—it’s a live wire into the present.
I’ve not actually read the first book in the series yet but that didn’t start with a V and I needed something that wasn’t a book by Bex! The blurb sounds really interesting though, I picked up the Kindle versions of both when they were on offer so I should get around to them!

Vulture by Bex Hogan
About the book
Power, politics and pirates collide in Vulture, the finale of the epic YA fantasy series The Isles of Storm and Sorrow, perfect for fans of Pirates of the Caribbean.
We are all one misstep away from being the villain…
Marianne has passed the ultimate test required to be a Mage. She is finally powerful enough to reunite the Twelve Isles.
But having exposed herself to the darker side of magic, Marianne is struggling. The magic within her is nearly impossible to control, and she becomes cruel and violent, mercilessly pursuing those who have harmed her in the past, ignoring the pleas of those closest to her to remember what’s really important: saving the islands.
Everything she’s fought for has come down to this. Will Marianne be able to fulfil her promise to bring peace to the islands when she can’t even bring peace to herself?
Conquer the darkness. Control the magic. Save the Isles.
Yes Bex is back! The final book in the Isles Of Storm And Sorrow series comes out in just a couple of months and I cannot wait to get my hands on it after the final sentences of Venom! I must admit to being a little torn about the publication of this one though, as much as I’m dying to read it and find out what happens I’m also very aware that this is book 3 in a trilogy so no more Marianne and Bronn once I turn the last page…

One memorable and two to be read V books! Let me know yours in the comments and be sure to come back on the 11th to discover my W books!

Charlotte
Viper, Venom and Vulture would definitely make my list.
Also Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho is a memorable one for me.
