Good morning! Around Christmas time I decided I wanted to start buying more from small businesses, in my head I was only going to buy one or two things a month, but as you can see from below I purchased a few more than that in January!
I stumbled across Benji’s last year and ordered a couple of things. At the time the terracotta planter was out of stock so I knew I’d be making another purchase! This month I finally got my hands on it, along with two cute photo frames and a hanging moon planter! They keep adding more gorgeous things to the website so I know this won’t be my final purchase from them!
Ava May Aromas
I went a little wax melt crazy this month (see below) and needed a new burner. Ava May Aromas was recommended to me so I picked up a gorgeous burner and some more melts. I’ve had one burning it the hallway relatively regularly and they smell fantastic. They have such a huge range, and the packaging is stunning! I’m just trying to decide what to try next!
Handmade At Home By Ellie
I saw Ellie share an Instagram post about some half and half coasters she’d just tried. I commented and said if she ever did a navy version to let me know. She custom made these two for me! I love them and I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes on her IG feed. I can see me needing coasters for my office once I’ve got the space looking the way I want!
Wax melt company number 2! Hannah’s melts are all inspired by a person, character or movie. So far I’ve only tried the Marilyn edition but it smelt amazing! Great for fans of Chanel No. 5!
The second resin maker on my list, when I spotted this beautiful gold bookmark just as I was about to pick up my The Gilded Ones ARC I knew I just had to buy it! I may need a matching pen at some point!
Back when I first thought about buying from more small businesses I popped a question up on my IG stories asking for recommendations and & Chai was one of the recommendations I received. I tried their signature wax melts and they smell incredible! I’ll definitely me trying more, and maybe getting a candle or two!
Mummy’s Marvellous Makes
My dad’s from Manchester, so I channeled my inner Manc when picking the fabric for my face cloths! On her website and Etsy you can find all sorts from reusable face wipes and tote bags to scrunchies and even reusable Christmas crackers! With lots of different fabrics to choose from.
Since everything changed last March and I transitioned to working from home I’ve been spending much more time looking at my screen. Getting up to make a cup of tea doesn’t take as long when you have no colleagues to chat to at the tea point! I’d heard a lot of good things about blue light filter glasses, and how they can help with headaches sleep etc so I decided to try out a pair. I didn’t want to spend huge amounts on a pair without trying them them first, but these were very reasonable! They seem to be helping so far!
These are the small businesses I’ve bought from this month! If you’ve any recommendations be sure to drop them in the comments below!
