Hi Everyone! I hope you’re all keeping well! It’s been over a month since I last posted on SWB and that was never my intention! In fact I had big plans for Blogmas but I’ve been struggling to find the motivation to turn the laptop on recently and actually sit down to write. I think it’s a bit of a combination of everything, living by myself 9 months of working from home is really starting to get to me, although I’m very lucky to have a good friend who invited me into her extended household so I’ve not been completely alone this whole time. On top of that I happened to look at my absence profile at work and with nowhere to go I’ve only taken one whole week off work this year, along with odd days for a few long weekends and that’s really starting to hit now, I’m just exhausted. Fortunately I’ve only got another two days to go and then I’ve got two full weeks off where the work phone and laptop will be being left behind.
I know for many after yesterday’s announcement Christmas won’t be the same, I’m very fortunate that I had planned to stay with my extended household rather than travelling to stay with family in Devon, and that’s still allowed under the Scottish rules for which I am eternally grateful!
I do have plans to properly return in 2021 but for now I am making a little more use of my Twitter and Instagram (I’m finally embracing the Stories feature) so please give me a follow on those platforms if you’re not already!
I hope despite all the challenges that we’re facing over the coming months you all manage to have an enjoyable Christmas, that you get to take a break from everything that’s going on and find lots of enjoyable books sitting under your tree on Christmas day! The beginning of 2021 might not be the return to normal that we were all hoping for but we’ll get there, and if you’re struggling with anything my emails and DMs are always open.
