Hello! It’s been a little while hasn’t it… Steph is channelling autumn goodness with her Pumpkin Spice Goodness theme to the October prompts! Now I know this isn’t technically this week’s prompt but I adore it and I missed it last weekend because of my birthday so just let me have this one…
Authors You’d Like To Go For Coffee With…
Steph kindly gave us the option of choosing characters or authors for this prompt, I think it would be far too difficult to narrow it down to just six characters so instead I’ve picked authors!
Bex is the genius behind the Isles of Storm and Sorrow series. I would love to sit down in a cafe with her, have a little chat about the trauma her books have put me through, try and get a little hint or two about what to expect from Vulture, other than more heartstopping moments and maybe a little sneaky clue as to what might be appearing next from her! We could also have a little reminisce about growing up in the South West…
Carol is the wonderful author behind two of my favourite crime fiction series, featuring Robyn Carter and Natalie Ward. I’m quite sure when her new series publishes in 2021 that will join my list of favourites too! Carol was one of the vary first authors I reached out to to see if she’d be willing to write a guest post for my blog and she very kindly did! I was still a pretty new blogger and the time and I’ll never forget that kindness! Carol is a prolific writer so I’m not sure how she’d find the time to fit in a coffee but I’d love it! If we could invite Rachel Lynch as well that would make for a wonderful chat!
Laura is the superstar behind some of my favourite YA and MG books of recent years. Her books cover some serious topics but are also such a delight to read. I think a couple of hours in a coffee shop with Laura would absolutely fly by and I’m quite certain I’d be leaving with a huge smile on my face!
As well as writing her own novels Sophie was chosen to write the new Hercule Poirot novels, so far I’ve read the first three and only have the most recent release to read. I’ve really enjoyed reading her take on Poirot so I’d love to sit down for a coffee and find out how she ended up writing the series and how she felt about taking on not just a well loved character but one created by one of the most renowned crime writers ever!
Karen has quickly estabilished herself as one of the best YA mystery authors around currently, I cannot wait to get my hands on The Cousins but what I’d really love to have a chat with her over coffee about is what happened next for the Bayview Four… They’re such great characters that I absolutely fell in love with, I’m invested I need to know what comes next for them!
I’m rounding off my six with another incredible YA mystery writer. A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder and Good Girl, Bad Blood are such wonderful reads! I’d love a little insight into how she came up with Pip, what’s next for her (I was a little worried about her by the end of GGBB) and to get a little hint about anything new she might have in the pipeline!
They were my #SixforSunday! If you’ve taken part leave a link to your post below and I’ll be sure to check it out!
