It’s not only a whole new month, it’s a whole year and decade! I hope everyone had a wonderful festive period! I’m dreading putting the 5:30 am alarm on again tomorrow! As ever with a new month comes a new theme for Steph’s prompts and January is all about getting to know each other! Steph has shared the prompts for the first quarter of 2020 so if you want to get involved check out the link below!
Six Bookish Resolutions
I don’t really do resolutions in general, I have a habit of not sticking to them after the first month or so… however there are some bookish things I’d like to do in 2020. So here they are!
Read More Classics
I’ve read a lot of books over the years, but I’ve not really been a big reader of classics since I finished school. So I’m planning on reading more this year. I’ve planned on one a month so hopefully I’ll follow this through.
Beat My Goodreads Challenge
I’ve set my Goodreads Challenge at 52 this year. I feel one book a week is reasonable, without it being too onerous alongside work. I would like to beat it, I suspect it will depend how my work life balance goes over 2020.
Keep Up With My Book Jar
So I think I stole this idea from Aoife a couple of years ago. The basic premise is every time I finish a book I pop a pound in a jar. This year I’m aiming to actually continue this throughout the year without giving up a couple of months in. This year I’m not having a physical jar, I never had a pound coin when I need it. Instead my Monzo account lets me set up pots so I’ll transfer a pound after each book
Read More Backlist Books
Every year I get so excited about new books, buy huge amounts but don’t get around to reading them all. This year I’m planning on increasing the number of backlist books I’m reading so hopefully I’ll actually get around to reading all of the amazing past books I’ve got sitting on my shelves.
Sort Out My NetGalley Backlist
So my Netgalley ratio isn’t too bad, I definitely cut down on my requests last year. However I definitely have some older books I’ve not gotten around to reading. So my plan is to make my way through these.
Keep Up My Middle Grade Reading
I started reading more MG fiction in 2019 and really enjoyed it so I’m hoping to continue this into 2020!
They were my #SixforSunday! If you’ve taken part leave a link to your post below and I’ll be sure to check it out!
