Looking Back on 2019 – My Favourite Young Adult Reads

Time for part two in my series of posts where I’m looking back at the books I’ve read during 2019 and picking out some highlights! I’m basing this on the books I’ve read during 2019, not necessarily 2019 releases. Also we’ve five days of the year left so I’m not completely done with my year’s reading so it’s possible this could change!

Day two is all about my Young Adult reads and I’m a little surprised to see I only read 11 YA books during the year! There were some great ones though!

Evermore by Sara Holland – This was the second book in the Everless duology and a wonderful conclusion. I read it right at the beginning of 2019 but it’s still up there!

My Evermore review

The Exact Opposite Of Okay by Laura Steven – I thought this was a really important read as it dealt with a serious subject but at the same time really accessible and funny

My The Exact Opposite Of Okay review

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder by Holly Jackson – I love me some YA crime and this was no exception, what I great read and I cannot wait for the sequel!

My A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder review

Jack Of Hearts (And Other Parts) by L. C. Rosen – Another book which dealt with some serious topics while being funny and actually filled with some great advice. I’m so glad I didn’t let a terribly formatted eARC put me off and went out to buy this one

My Jack Of Hearts (And Other Parts) Review

Theatrical by Maggie Harcourt – A last minute addition to the list after reading it on Boxing Day. It was a delight to go back into a world created by Maggie Harcourt!

My Theatrical review

They’re my top five YA reads of 2019! What were yours? Let me know in the comments!
