Another fantastic prompt from Steph, now some of you will probably expect a list of books but I’m going to do something a bit different instead. Normal book based Six for Sunday’s will return next week!
All I Want For Christmas Is…
One – A Decent Night’s Sleep
I really don’t sleep all that well, to avoid a particularly hellish commute I get the first train out of Fife every weekday morning which means getting up at 5:30. Most days I’m lucky if I’m asleep by midnight, or if I do fall asleep earlier I wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning. I know getting around 5 hours of sleep a night isn’t sustainable, currently I keep going until I hit a weekend every few months where I just crash and sleep a Saturday away. Getting a steady 7 hours would do me!
Two – A Passport
Passports are expensive! Mine expired a few years back and I never bothered renewing because I had no holiday plans and what’s the point in spending the best part of £100 if you’re just going to waste the first couple of years… now I’m earning a little more money and I live less than 30 minutes from Edinburgh airport so I kinda like the idea of being able to jump on a train last minute. Which brings me onto…
Three – A Holiday
These two festive weeks mark the first time I’ve taken a solid two weeks off work all 2019. I’m so looking forward to it! I was lucky enough to spend a week back home in Devon during the summer heatwave but I think during 2020 I really need to take care of myself a bit better and 10 days or so away in the sun is something I think I need!
Four – A Massage
Sitting at a desk on a computer for 8 hours a day five days a week is not good for your back! I had a massage back in November as a late birthday treat and it was commented that the muscles in my back were really tight. I can feel they’re getting that way again so I’ll need to find some pennies for another in January
Five – A Desk
This is a proper wishlist item as I don’t think I’ve really got a place for one in my current flat. I’d love to have the space to set up a proper home working area though. In theory we have flexible working but doing what I do solely from a 13″ laptop is not really practical. So the space to have a set up with a separate screen, keyboard and mouse would let me take advantage and mean I could cut out the two and a half hour commute to and from the office a little more often.
Six – Life-size Cutout of Adam Driver as Kylo Ren
It occurs to me I’ve been rather serious up to this point so to balance that out I’ll take a cardboard cutout of Kylo Ren! Preferably based on his outfit towards the end of the Rise of Skywalker. If you’ve seen it you’ll know!
They were my #SixforSunday! If you’ve taken part leave a link to your post below and I’ll be sure to check it out!
