Six For Sunday – Autumn Feels: Leafy Books

Hi guys! I know I’ve been very quiet this month but my laptop is on it’s last legs and it’s so frustrating trying to use it at the moment! I’ve just upgraded my phone though and sent my old one off for trade in so hopefully I’ll be able to buy a new one some time during the week!

Now we’re into October it’s time for a new prompt theme from Steph and October is all about those Autumn Feels so expect richly coloured covers and witchy tales but first books with leaves on the cover!

Books With Leaves On The Cover

Because I never like to make things easy on myself I’ve limited myself to unread books sitting on my shelves – The same shelves I got fed up of being over full and just emptied half of the books into boxes and have hidden in the spare room… Still I managed to find six books!

Incredibly funny, and filled with warmth and heart, this is Charlotte’s Web meets Little Miss Sunshine – the story of one dog’s attempt to save his family, become a star, and eat a lot of bacon.

Not only does this book feature leaves on the cover it features autumn leaves in all their gorgeous redness! This is definitely a book where the UK cover trumps the US one! I’ve been meaning to read this for a while and for some reason I’ve just not gotten around to it yet. Hopefully this autumn will be the time!

A Pinch Of Magic by Michelle Harrison

This cover is just stunningly beautiful and there’s definitely a leaf or two on there… Plus a very late autumn tree which is missing its leaves. This is another book that I’ve had on my shelf for many more months than I should have had without reading…

This cover is full of trees with ivy scattered all around too, yes the ivy leaves are blue so not your traditional autumn colours but they’re still there! I ordered this one online as I was so intrigued by this Sherlock story and I don’t think there’s a UK publisher yet… I’ve not got around to reading it yet but I must, it’s not exactly a retelling but I love the idea

Waterlilies count as leaves right…. This cover is just so atmospheric and beautiful! One of my closest blogger friends has always sung the praises of Melinda Salisbury and while I haven’t yet read The Sin Eater’s Daughter trilogy I have started this one and I’m loving it so far!

This is such a dark, eerie cover filled with thorns but there are some leaves too! I know that some people have already got their hands on (and loved) the proof for the sequel, A Heart So Fierce And Broken, but I’m still to read the first! I’ve had my copy since the beautiful hard backed edition arrived in my Fairyloot box way back at the beginning of the year…
