Top Ten Tuesday – Book Characters I’d Love to Be Besties With

Good morning! After taking a break last week I’m back joining in with Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s prompt features on book characters I’d love to be besties with – some may be a little predictable but I hope one or two will surprise you!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Book Characters I’d Love to Be Besties With

Hermione Granger from Harry Potter

Now for people who know me this is a pretty obvious choice. Quite a few people I know have compared me to Hermione so I’d like to think we’d get on well! Getting to know Luna through Hermione would certainly be a bonus too!

Lyra Belacqua and Pan from His Dark Materials

I could have picked so many characters from this series that I’d love to be friends with, especially Iorek, Lee and Serafina. However I’ve gone with the character who introduced me to this whole wonderful world, Lyra – and of course you couldn’t be besties with Lyra without also being besties with her dæmon Pan!

Beverley Brook from The Rivers Of London Series

I absolutely adore this series, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith really brings it to life in the audiobooks and so many of the characters sound wonderful! I’ve chosen Beverley Brook who is Mama Thames’s daughter and the goddess of one of the smaller rivers in London. She also sounds like such fun!

Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott from the Strike Books

Despite not being a couple these two really come as a pair so I’ve had to pick them both! A Friday night glass of wine with Robin or a Saturday watching the football with Cormoran would be great fun!

Jules Ember from the Everless Duology

Now being besties with Jules Ember is not neseccarily the safest place to be in Sempera. That said Jules comes across as a genuinely lovely person and I’d love to discover more about Sempera and its history with her and Liam.

Izzy O’Neill from The Exact Opposite Of Okay

Who doesn’t just love Izzy?! I think she sounds like such a fun person to hang out with! I’d quite happily pop down to the diner with her and enjoy a milkshake or two!

Bartholomew from Everdark

Now I absolutely adore Smudge from Everdark but I feel a deep connection with the snarky monkey Bartholomew. He is almost certainly my spirit animal and I feel we would get on very well, enjoying a nice cup of tea and cursing the state of the world!

Suzy and Wilmot from The Train To Impossible Places

I feel like Suzy is me from a few (too many) years ago so we’d get on pretty well, and Wilmot is just adorable and needs a little more belief in himself so I’d love to travel around the Impossible Places with them delivering post!

Malkin the Fox from The Cogheart Adventures

Now don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adored Lily and Robert but it was brave Malkin the fox that captured my heart! I would very much like my very own Malkin for my day to day life!

Nettie Delaney from SING (Like No One’s Listening)

I’m certainly not talented enough to earn a place at Dukes but despite all the drama of her first year Nettie seems to have a lot of fun with Alec, Leon and Kiki. I’d love a night out or two with that group!

Those were ten book characters I’d love to be besties with! Who would you pick? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you! I made it around Christmas while I was bored!

I think the Harry Potter characters hold a special place in a lot of people’s hearts so I expect a lot of people would love to be friends with them
