A whole week into June already! I must confess that having been rained on quite thoroughly several times this week it’s not felt much like summer but that’s what you get when you decide to make Scotland your home!
Work has been busy as ever, but I have had some exciting news this week, while I didn’t get the job I interviewed for a few weeks back, I did pass the assessment and was put on a reserve list and this week I got offered a job as a result! It’s not with the same team I originally applied to work with but it’s still a promotion and it’s in the same general area so I’m really looking forward to starting next month! It probably helps that I’ll only be moving two or three rows away from where I currently sit so I’ll still be with all the same people, my breakfast and coffee plans won’t have to change too much!
Books I’ve Read This Week
On SWB This Week
This week on SWB I actually reviewed three books! To Night Owl From Dogfish, A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder and Bold Lies. I shared the books I added to my TBR in May and the contents of my May Wildest Dreams book box. I also posted my weekly posts: Top Ten Tuesday – my favourite YA books; Tag Thursday – this week it was about all things TV; and Six For Sunday – Six characters that deserve another book!
From Around The Blogsphere
Some of my favourite blog posts from the past week
It was time for another Books With The Boy on Charlotte, Somewhere as S shared his predictions for the books on his TBR. Not content with taking over his mum’s blog S also popped up on A Little But A Lot completing Steph’s Friends tag! Amy at Golden Books Girl continued her series recommending books to Disney characters – this time focusing on some of the sidekicks! Finally Jemma shared the cover reveal for Harley In The Sky – I’d not heard much about this book but now I’m dying to read it!
Book reviews I loved: Charlotte reviewed Are We All Lemmings And Snowflakes?; Mrs Cooke reviewed The Dangerous Kind; Layla reviewed Alex In Wonderland; Amy shared her May reviews; and Shalini reviewed Opposite of Always.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday was all about our favourite genres. There were some great posts including: Amy’s mysteries; Suzanne’s retellings; Kate’s fantasies; Chrissi’s psychological thrillers; and Destiny’s queer reads
Coming Up On SWB
There will be more reviews! Yes I have read enough to be sharing more! I’m also going to attempt to list ten unpopular bookish opinions for Top Ten Tuesday and it’s time for the letter C in the ABC Book Challenge on Tag Thursday!
That was my week! Let me know your favourite blog post of the week, either one you’ve written or read somewhere else, and I’ll be sure to check it out!
