It’s time for another Tag Thursday and today’s tag has been a long time coming. I first saw this back in 2017 on Always Trust In Books, I bookmarked it at the time and have been sitting on it ever since! So before we reach a full two years without getting round to posting it here are my answers to The Anything But Books Tag!

The Anything But Books Tag
Name a cartoon that you love
I can’t say I watch a lot of cartoons so I’m not sure I really love any currently. Growing up however I loved a mixture, from The Poddington Peas when I was really quite young, to Kim Possible when I was a little older. I also loved to watch classic cartoons with my dad, so I have a lot of fondness for some of the cartoons he grew up with like Wacky Races, The Hair Bear Bunch and Hong Kong Phooey. I’ve also just remembered Sharky and George which was must watch TV on a weekend morning and I will always have a soft spot for The Animals of Farthing Wood but that series was traumatising!
What is your favourite song right now?
The week after coming out of hospital I actually found myself at home and in bed listening to the radio during the chart show for the first time in a don’t know how many years and they spoke to Lewis Capaldi on the phone as he had a couple of songs in the chart and I have to admit really liking both of them and ended up downloading his EP and can’t wait for his full album now. I think my favourite of the two is probably Grace but Someone You Loved is very close!
What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?
Ooh good question! I do love a good TV show binge, recently I caught up with the most recent series of Grey’s Anatomy, that was about five episodes in a row. I also watched I don’t know how many episodes of Teen Mom OG in a row last weekend, this is the danger of Sky Box Sets and Netflix when they just automatically play the next episode…
What is something that you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?
Guilty pleasure TV – would it surprise you to know I love several of the Real Housewives franchises and I can’t get enough of Vanderpump Rules? I don’t know…
I’m also a huge football fan, I didn’t have much of a choice growing up in my household…
What is your favourite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?
My favourite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about… Medical Imaging Equipment… I used to work with Scottish hospitals to buy it when they needed to replace their existing equipment but it fascinates me so I used to look into things in more depth than I needed to. Don’t get me wrong the physics of it all is way over my head so don’t ask me about any of the calculations behind it but I loved meeting with suppliers and finding out about new features. I think I’m just a bit of a tech geek…
What is something unusual that you know how to do?
What counts as unusual? I can knit but I’m not really sure that counts… When I was at primary school we had a Japanese exchange student and for our Arts Week that year I picked to do Japanese Culture so when I was ten I could sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and count to ten in Japanese… these days my Japanese is limited to hello, goodbye and thank you…
Name something that you made last year and show us if you can.
I bake a fair amount, I find it quite relaxing so fairly often I’ll make cupcakes, I think my latest effort were Salted Caramel and Honeycomb cupcakes. I also made a coffee and walnut cake as a birthday cake for a couple of guys I work with last year. I don’t have any pictures though sorry!
What is your most recent personal project?
This blog? Does that count? I love blogging the the interaction with other bloggers but as much as I love reading books I have no desire to be an author so I have no personal manuscripts on the go. To be honest I’m so busy with work currently I feel like a barely have time for anything else…
Tell us something that you think about often?
Shoes and books! Should this actually be some deep and meaningful answer? To be honest I’m quite often wondering if there’s space in my budget for another pair of shoes or a book and if I can justify it… If you’d seen my flat you’d know I really don’t need any more of either category at the present moment in time, doesn’t really stop me though…
Give us something that is your favourite, but make it oddly specific.
The green ones in a packet of fruit gums are my favourite, followed by the black ones, but don’t try to give me a fruit pastille, I can’t stand them!
Say the first thing that pops into your head.
I have absolutely no clue!

That’s my take on The Anything But Books Tag! It’s that old now I won’t tag anybody but if you feel like completing the tag please drop me a link to your post in the comments!

Oh my gosh, I loved The Animals of Farthing Wood so much! I didn’t realise how dark it was at the time but looking back, yep, it was pretty terrifying.

Right, there was an awful lot of death for a kid’s cartoon!

Then we’d be alright sharing! It’s like when me and Zara share a tub or Roses, she likes all the fruit creams that I can’t stand and I like all the nutty ones she doesn’t
