It’s the second post of the day, this is what happens when you end up having to be signed off work and are stuck in bed! This afternoon I’m sharing The Ultimate Book Tag which I saw on Amy’s blog and had to steal! So without further ado onto the tag!

The Ultimate Book Tag!
1. Do you get sick reading in the car? Nope! I guess I got lucky, I very rarely ever get travel sick, I’m pretty sure the one time I felt sick in the car as a child something had fallen off the exhaust as we were driving for a day out on Dartmoor…. Reading, or watching something on my iPad doesn’t affect me at all, which is fortunate given the number of coach trips I took between London and Scotland when I was working down there!
2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you? Who this is a difficult one! I think I’ll have to say Anthony Horowitz, I’ve read a few of his novels and two of them have (to me at least) pretty unusual concepts, one featured a book within the book and the other included the author himself as one of the central characters, it felt pretty unique to me!
3. Harry Potter series or the Twilight Saga? Give three points to defend your answers. Harry Potter because Hermione, apperation, and Slytherin for life! Seriously I’ve read both, Harry Potter as the books came out and I read the Twilight Saga just after the first Twilight movie was released. I just feel like Harry Potter has aged better, I will happily go back and re-read Harry Potter and I just don’t feel that about Twilight, 20 year old me liked it well enough but there are a lot of things 20 year old me thought was a good idea that I’m no longer so sure about, sparkly vampires is just one on the list.
4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what’s in it (besides books…)? Nope, not since primary school, my books come with me in my handbag, although I really need to get myself a book sleeve to protect them a little more. I do have a lovely Waterstones Edinburgh tote I take with me if I’m planning on buying more books though!
5. Do you smell your books? I can’t say I do… Although I do like the smell if I happen to catch it…
6. Books with or without little illustrations? Either, I can’t say I have particularly strong theories either way…
7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing? That’s a good question! I try not to feel guilty about reading anything, that said there are definitely books that I read when I was younger I wouldn’t want to go back and re-read, but I think that’s more about my tastes changing than any suggestion it wasn’t quality writing…
8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share! Not that I can think of! Does getting my grandma hooked on Harry Potter after lending her the first one so she could see what all the fuss was about count?
9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf? I have the King of Scars sampler, does that count? If not I’ve got two of the short stories from 2018’s Quick Reads books….
10. What is the thickest book on your shelf? Surprisingly not Harry Potter, but only because my Harry Potter books are still on my bookshelves at my mum’s I only have the two house editions here… It’s probably Lethal White though so it’s still JK!
11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author? No, when I was younger a dabbled in fan fiction but that’s as close as I’ve ever come. I don’t have the desire to make it as an author and I am completely content to sit and read other people’s work!
12. When did you get into reading? My parents taught me to read before I started school and I’ve always just loved it! I never felt more at home than with a book in my hand.
13. What is your favourite classic book? What are we counting as a classic? Pre 1900? Modern Classics, Childhood Classics I could name a book for each! Pride and Prejudice, To Kill A Mockingbird and The Secret Garden (or The Little Princess)!
14. In school what was your best subject?
Maths and Science without a doubt, I love cold hard logic, and despite being a huge reader I much preferred a subject where an answer was either wrong or right, no room for interpretation!
15. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated… what would you do? I’m not sure, just lie probably! but most of the people who are likely to buy me books would ask, or at least steal a glimpse at my Amazon wish list first…
16. What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or The Hunger Games? Ooh I can’t think of anything, maybe the Dark Gifts trilogy, it has magic and revolution…
17. What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while filming? Not a booktuber so not an issue for me, I did have to record myself as part of a presentation workshop and I do seem to have a habit of speaking kinda fast!
18. What is your favourite word? I’ve never really thought about it, growing up one of my friend’s loved the word hootenanny and I have to admit it’s a pretty good word!
19. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above? I was definitely a nerd, I came top of my year in science for our year 9 SATS, mocks and real GCSEs and I was there or thereabouts for maths too… I’m also very willing to admit I’m a bit of a geek, I adore Star Wars!
20. Vampires or Fairies? Why? Vampires, but not sparkly ones! They have a pretty cool set of skills, although I guess it depends which mythology you’re reading…
21. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why? I feel being a shapeshifter would be more fun…
22. Spirits or Werewolves? Why? Werewolves, just for Lupin! Werewolves in general tend to get a fairly bad rap in fiction I think… Although the whole imprinting thing in Twilight was creepy…
23. Zombies or vampires? Why? Still vampires…
24. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love? Forbidden love, but like Romeo and Juliet families at odds type forbidden love, not creepy forbidden love! I do enjoy a good love triangle though…
25. Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in? Action packed! I don’t mind a contemporary novel at all but I’ve always much preferred an action film to a chick flick….

Thanks for reading! If a particular question caught your attention let me know your answer in the comments below!

My mum gets travel sick and my brother used to, I must admit it never even occurred to me growing up that reading might make people feel sick!
