Out in March…

I can’t believe it’s already time for me to share my third Out In… post of 2019, this year is completely flying by! There’s some great books coming out in March including an addition to a MG series my goddaughter just loves!

Clicking the title will take you to the Goodreads page. Clicking on the retailers name will take you to the book on their site, these are not affiliate links just me enabling you all to buy more books!

Middle Grade

I’ve not read the first Agatha Oddly book but the premise sounds so fun! I loved mystery books as a child, I devoured the Famous Five and this sounds a little like a modern version! Tom Mitchell’s book is aimed at the older end of the MG audience 11/12 years old but sounds like a fun caper! My final featured book is the latest in the Amelia Fang series, my goddaughter read the first one in the series at school, and then when I took her out for a hot chocolate and a treat it was an Amelia Fang book she requested. This may be part of her Easter gift this year!

Rayne and Delilah’s Midnite MatineeJeff Zentner

Release Date: 7th March 2019

A contemporary novel about two best friends who must make tough decisions about their futures–and the TV show they host–in their senior year of high school.

Every Friday night, best friends Delia and Josie become Rayne Ravenscroft and Delilah Darkwood, hosts of the campy creature feature show Midnite Matinee on the local cable station TV Six.

But with the end of senior year quickly approaching, the girls face tough decisions about their futures. Josie has been dreading graduation, as she tries to decide whether to leave for a big university and chase her dream career in mainstream TV. And Lawson, one of the show’s guest performers, a talented MMA fighter with weaknesses for pancakes, fantasy novels, and Josie, is making her tough decision even harder.

Scary movies are the last connection Delia has to her dad, who abandoned the family years ago. If Midnite Matinee becomes a hit, maybe he’ll see it and want to be a part of her life again. And maybe Josie will stay with the show instead of leaving her behind, too.

As the tug-of-war between growing up and growing apart tests the bonds of their friendship, Josie and Delia start to realize that an uncertain future can be both monstrous…and momentous.

Zia is way out of Molly’s league. Older, beautiful, and definitely way more sophisticated. It’s probably just wishful thinking, but Molly can’t help wondering if maybe Zia is flirting with her. Despite Zia’s always-there boyfriend, Molly falls hard for her, and Zia says she feels the same way. So then why doesn’t Zia break up with her boyfriend, and why does she keep so many secrets?

Then there’s Lily, who she can’t seem to stop accidentally kissing. When your head and your heart are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

I keep meaning to pick up Agatha Oddly from the library, and I am very excited about the Mystery of Black Hollow Lane (though I have it down as coming out in April). We have Shameless and Secrets in common for YA, and I may end up reading All the Invisible Things/You Owe Me a Murder at some point.
