For today’s Top Ten Tuesday I’m looking at books I meant to read in 2018 but never got round to. Some of them are 2018 releases and some of them were back list reads that are now another year further back… Oops…
I’ve also limited this to books I actually already own, I had a hard enough time narrowing it down to ten without considering all the books I meant to buy in 2018 and didn’t get around too, there’s some evidence of this in my 2018 Anticipated Books Review post.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Books I Meant to Read In 2018 but Didn’t Get To
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
I watched the film adaptation of this in September 2018 and really enjoyed it so I bought the book to read…
The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury
Charlotte, Kelly and Steph are three examples of bloggers who have informed me I must read ALL of Mel’s work. I got as far as buying the first book in The Sin Eater’s Daughter trilogy…
Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
So Love, Simon was released in 2018 – and I received Leah on the Offbeat in a sub box so I wanted to read Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda first so I went out and bought it…
A Study In Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
I love Sherlock Holmes and most things related to it. I’ve read all the original novels and the two estate approved novels from Anthony Horowitz. I love Sherlock and I’ve watched most of Elementary so when I discovered there was a series where the lead character is Sherlock’s great-great-great Granddaughter I was intrigued (partially to discover how Sherlock came to have a child and thus a great-great-great granddaughter in the first place). The fourth book is due out in 2019 but yeah…
Wing Jones by Katherine Webber
Another novel that so many of my friends absolutely rave about and it sounds amazing. I got as far as buying this book. Haven’t read it yet…
Also I still need to buy Only Love Can Break Your Heart…
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
I started reading this one but then I put it down for some reason… I think I changed my commuting handbag and forgot to put it in my new bag. I was really enjoying it so I definitely need to pick it up again and get it finished.
Goodbye, Perfect by Sara Barnard
This is another way by which I continue to disappoint my blogging friends I’ve still not read a book by Sara. I own this one and I’m not sure exactly why I haven’t read it other than part of me feels I should read Sara’s other books first despite them not being part of a series…
The Sentence Is Death by Anthony Horowitz
I loved The Word Is Murder which was the first book in this series so I had this on pre-order. I just never got around to it…
Theatrical by Maggie Harcourt
Words cannot express how much I loved Unconventional and I was really looking forward to Theatrical. Due to my general reading slump last year I never got around to it.
No Time To Cry by James Oswald
I’m addicted to James Oswald’s other crime series so I really must get around to picking this one off my shelf!

Honourable mentions also go to…. Three Dark Crowns, The Extinction Trials, The Fandom, Cadaver & Queen, Royals, Cross Her Heart, Eve of Man, #Murdertrending, That’s Not What Happened, It Ends With You and Tilly and the Bookwanderers.

So there are a few of the books I meant to read in 2018 and just never got round to! Are there any books you meant to read in 2018 but just didn’t get a chance to pick up? Let me know in the comments!

Wing Jones and Goodbye, Perfect are AMAZING, and I really enjoyed Theatrical as well! I also loved Tilly and the Bookwanderers (I read it while I was recovering from surgery last year and it was such a lovely, distracting read!), and I too still need to read Royals. I read the first chapter or so and really liked it, but I’ve just never picked it back up and read it properly.
