2018 wasn’t a great reading year for me, it’s not that the books that I read weren’t great I just didn’t read as many books as I would have liked, I didn’t even average one a week which disappointed me, I guess I’ve just been crazy busy with a new job and things, hopefully things will settle down in 2019 and I’ll be able to read some more.
I’ve gone through my Read In 2018 Goodreads shelf and these are my six favourite books of the year.
Six for Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Steph at ALITTLEBUTALOT. You can find a list of the 2018 prompts here

2018 in books
Dead Stock by Rachel Ward – This is the second in the Ant & Bea Mysteries, a wonderful cosy crime series with two of the loveliest lead characters you’ll come across in any book. I really enjoyed reading this one
Nemesis by Brendan Reichs – I absolutely loved the first in the Project Nemesis series, it was full of intrigue and kept me turning pages. Unfortunately the second in the series didn’t grab me in the same way and Genesis is still sitting partially read. Hopefully it’ll capture my attention and the final book in the trilogy will give it the send off it deserves next year.
Everless by Sara Holland – This was my very first read of 2018 and what a read it was, I loved Sempera although it would be a terrifying place to live! I’m so looking forward to Evermore, I have it on pre-order!
DI Kelly Porter by Rachel Lynch – I’m totally cheating with this one and combining the 3 DI Kelly Porter novels that were published this year into one entry. It’s a crime series set in the Lake District and it’s so beautifully described I really want to visit!
Bright Ruin by Vic James – This is the final book in the Dark Gifts trilogy and what an ending it was! Absolutely perfect, but there’s a part of me that’s devastated I’ve seen the last of Silyen Jardine….
The Gathering Dark by James Oswald – I think this supernatural crime series is one of the best series I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading – this was the 8th novel in the series, it tore at my feelings like you wouldn’t believe. This series just keeps on getting better!

They were my #SixforSunday! If you’ve taken part leave a link to your post below and I’ll be sure to check it out!
