Steph doesn’t do easy prompts and this week’s is no exception! Today I’m sharing some of the authors I’d love to see work together in one way or another!
Six for Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Steph at ALITTLEBUTALOT. You can find a list of the remaining 2018 prompts here
Authors you’d love to see collaborate
Ben Aaronovitch and James Oswald
Both of these authors write crime fiction with a supernatural twist that I absolutely love. James’s Oswald’s Inspector McLean has a tough time comprehending some of the strange things that happen around him, so I’d love to see him down in London meeting Ben Aaronovitch’s Peter Grant and discovering that magic is real
Philip Pullman and JK Rowling
I’m not sure if this would actually be a good idea or not but these authors are responsible for two of the most magical and memorable series of my childhood so part of me would love to see what they could come up with together
Tess Gerritsen and Kathy Reichs
Three great female characters lead the two crime series that these authors created. Tess Gerritsen is the author behind the Rizzoli and Isles series that was adapted for TV, and Kathy Reichs is the creator of the Temperance Brennan series that went on to inspire the TV series Bones. Both authors are experts in their fields so I’d love to see what they could come up with together – I’m sure it would be delightfully grim!
Karen McManus, Ally Carter, M.A. Bennett, E. Lockhart, Brittany Cavallaro
With a little inspiration from the style of Floored I’d love to see some of my favourite YA mystery authors combine in a murder mystery with each author writing a character.
Kendare Blake, Vic James, Sara Holland, Jeff Giles
These are some of the authors that awakened my love of YA Fantasy, I’m not sure something like Floored would work so well in a fantasy setting but I’d love an anthology of short stories to read!
Rachel Lucas, Jenny McLachlan, Brigid Kemmerer, Karen Gregory, Carlie Sorosiak
These are a group of another group of some of my favourite authors who have written some amazing contemporary YA novels recently, they deal with some important issues in their novels and I’d love to see an anthology from them too.
They were my #SixforSunday! Who are your dream collaborations? If you’ve taken part leave a link to your post below and I’ll be sure to check it out!
