Six for Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Steph at ALITTLEBUTALOT. You can find a list of the 2018 prompts here

Favourite Snacks To Read With

Chocolate – I’m not even particularly fussy which type, although I’m less keen on white… I love nuts though, so a bar of Cadbury’s fruit and nut is a bit of a go to. Although my chocolate based snack of choice would have to be almond M&Ms but you can’t get them in the UK so it’s a must have any time a friend of mine goes to the US.

Popcorn – Of the sweet and salted variety preferably.

Fruit – I don’t have fruit in the house very often for 2 reasons. 1) I live by myself so I’m normally slightly concerned it will go off before I get to it, particularly if I want a variety and 2) when I do buy fruit, like oranges I tend to eat far too many and then make myself ill… But if I do have some I will eat it while reading – although I get slightly nervous about getting juice on a book…

Fudge/Tablet – Both of these are pure sugar so so bad for you but it’s a fabulous treat! There’s someone in the office that makes tablet once a month and sells it for charity so it would be rude not to buy it… Also Edinburgh has a branch of the Fudge Kitchen which sells the most amazing variety of flavours – Chocolate and sea salt was my latest discovery.

Biscuits – I don’t have these in the house very often but when I do they make a wonderful accompaniment to whatever hot drink I have. Actually do drinks count as a snack? If so I’m replacing biscuits with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Dependant on the time of day any of these may be sitting on the table next to me while I’m reading. There’s currently a nice simple cup of PG Tips next to me as I write. Speaking of which has anyone used a Twix as a straw with a cup of tea? Life changing!

Alcoholic Beverage – All out cheating now, if I’m curled up on the sofa reading on a Friday or Saturday night you might find a glass of something beside me. A glass of wine or G&T… One of the things that annoyed me the most about my current flat is the lack of a bath, I so miss lighting a candle and sinking into the tub with a glass of rose and a good book!

As you can probably tell I have a bit of a sweet tooth! I don’t really do savoury snacking at all, I’ll very rarely pick up crisps if they’re on special offer. But although I enjoy all of the above I don’t actually snack while I’m reading all that much. I do usually have a beverage with me though…

I have fudge or tablet maybe once a month – depends if I’m in the office when the charity tablet comes round! I love chocolate though, I have to stop myself from eating that everyday, I would be far too easy to! X

OH MAN YES. Love a bit of fudge! Also, nothing quite beats sitting in a beer garden on a sunny day with a book. If I could live that life all the time, I think I’d be a happy bunny.

Thanks for joining in! See you next week for #SixforSunday! S x
