This week seems to have flown by, this might be something to do with the three day work week I had. I was off on Monday because of my exam, and then I had Friday off because I have some annual leave to use up!
On Wednesday I was fortunate enough to attend the launch event for The Gathering Dark, the latest in James Oswald’s Inspector McLean series. It was at Waterstones in Edinburgh which is a beautiful building anyway and it was a really interesting Q&A, fortunately I had picked up a copy of the book just before the event so I was right at the front of the queue when it came to getting it signed otherwise I think I would have been there for quite some time, I had started reading it while I was waiting and James even said I’d have finished it if I was at the back of the queue!
I’m starting next week with a day off so I’m popping up to St Andrews to meet a friend for dinner, really looking forward to it, St Andrews is one of my favourite towns to just wander about in!

Books I’ve Read This Week
Still making my way through this one, but now my exam is over I’m hoping to free up some time for reading, including two hour long train journeys tomorrow so hopefully this one will be finished and I’ll be onto the next one soon. I also read The Big Event, although it’s only a short story.

The Waterstones in Edinburgh is a beautiful building. I’ve only been in once when Christopher Paolini was doing his book tour for Inheritance and I would love to go back. That sounds like an interesting series too!

I’m lucky that James Oswald has a farm in Fife so he does a lot of things in Scotland for logistical reasons, he works the farm as well as writing so he can’t do book tours that take him away for long periods of time so although I was at the Edinburgh event he goes up to the highlands and all about
