Another week into the year! I feel like I didn’t read that much this week but I did manage to finish two so maybe I didn’t do so badly after all!

What I’m Reading
Things We Learn When We’re Dead
About The Book
With elements of The Wizard of Oz, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and The Lovely Bones, The Things We Learn When We’re Dead shows how small decisions can have profound and unintended consequences, and how sometimes we can get a second chance.
On the way home from a dinner party, Lorna Love steps into the path of an oncoming car. When she wakes up she is in what appears to be a hospital – but a hospital in which her nurse looks like a young Sean Connery, she is served wine for supper, and everyone avoids her questions. It soon transpires that she is in Heaven, or on HVN. Because HVN is a lost, dysfunctional spaceship, and God the aging hippy captain. She seems to be there by accident… Or does God have a higher purpose after all?
At first Lorna can remember nothing. As her memories return – some good, some bad – she realises that she has decision to make and that maybe she needs to find a way home.
I’ve been reading this on my commute so I’m not that far in but it’s really intriguing me so far!
What I Recently Finished
So Undercover Princess did pick up, unfortunately not until about 5% from the end as well…. I’m pleased I finally read The Burning though, I’ll definitely be continuing with the series though, I’m looking forward to seeing how Maeve develops from the character in this book, into the one I met in the latest novel in the series last year.
What I’m Reading Next
I’m looking forward to getting stuck into these! I’ve had The Confession for a little while but it’s due for release shortly so I really need to get it read!
What do you think of my reading choices? What are you reading at the moment? Let me know below

I’m really interested to see what you make of The Things We Learn When We’re Dead. I read it earlier this year.

I wasn’t mad-keen on UP either. I might pass it on to a school. I wanted to love it. The world was so pink and fluffy and fun. The Things We Learn When We’re Dead sounds interesting.

I’m hoping the next book in the UP series will be better now the main characters and setting are introduced… Hoping the actual plot will be paced better. If it appears on NetGalley or in the local library I may give it another shot

I like the sound of The Burning! And Dark Game looks interesting as well. Happy reading!

Thanks! The Burning was good my review should be up soon, I think Let The Dead Speak was better but that was a later book in the series so I’m not surprised it’s more developed.
