The Sunday Post – 29/10/17

Well we’ve all made it to the end of another week – and here in the UK at least the clocks went back an hour overnight so an extra hour in bed! Although I may have used mine to tidy up my Goodreads shelf.

This week was haircut week, I go to the great hairdressers in the middle of Edinburgh and they start off with a head, neck and shoulder massage which is amazing, especially when you’ve spent the day sitting at a computer.

Then I had a half day in the office on Friday, it marked the official end of my birthday month. Me and another work colleague shared a birthday at the beginning of the month, I was 30 and she turned 50, by the time October holidays and things were over it was nearly the end of the month before we could all get together. Becky and I were kept completely in the dark about what was happening, we knew we were going for dinner at half 4, but we had no idea what we were doing from the time we were leaving the office at half 12 until then. It turns out another of my colleagues had arranged this amazing pub crawl treasure hunt, we were split into two teams and each team had a list of clues to lead us around 9 different pubs on The Royal Mile and Grassmarket area, we had questions to answer about each pub and a list of items to collect, I absolutely loved it it was different from our usual team nights out but so much fun – I did have have to wear a ridiculous red wig and a spider mask but our team won so bonus! I ended up on the train home just after 10pm, having drunk a fair number of G&Ts and some great Mexican food from a restaurant I must have passed so many times but had never noticed. The best bit was I didn’t even have a hangover yesterday!

And this week I even have some blog content to share with you all!

It was so good! I wasn’t sure what to expect but we had so much fun! I was actually amazed at how much effort Lorraine had gone to to arrange it, we had team badges and everything!

One of the things we had to bring back was a printed photo of the team, so there was 4 of us attempting to cram into a photo booth in Boots just off the Royal Mile. I would highly recommend it as an idea!

Over winter it definitely reaches a point where I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, I hate it! Tomorrow sunset is supposed to be just after 4:30 here 😦
