The Sunday Post – 23/07/17

I can’t believe it’s already 7pm on Sunday, another week has flown by! I did my exam on Tuesday and then popped into town to grab some lunch, Edinburgh is definitely gearing up for the festival, I love going to an event or two but it’s definitely reached the point where I want to avoid the middle of town and it’s not even August yet! I don’t mind crowds as such, I just get really annoyed when people slow me down when I’m on my way somewhere, and the streets are definitely filling up!

One of my best friends came down to visit on Friday, our plans were slightly disrupted by the weather, we made it as far as the Rosslyn Chapel car park before deciding we weren’t

getting out of the car to go and explore in the rain so off we went and stopped for coffee and cake and a look around the Swedish Design Museum (otherwise known as Ikea). I fell slightly in love with a lampshade that screamed Star Wars at me but I’m not sure where I’d be able to put it, but look at it it’s amazing! It completely closes into a ball that looks like the Death Star. We then popped down to Leith for lunch so we could pop into Wagamamas without having to go into the centre of town.

Today we popped to North Queensferry for brunch in my favourite little cafe before we decided to brave a trip down the coastal route and travelled to Falkland via Kirkcaldy. We wandered round a couple of the crafty gift shops and I avoided spending 20066790_253224991840809_4049757580027756544_nany money, although I could have easily spent a fortune, we then popped into Falkland Palace and the sun came out as we wandered around the palace gardens and we came across this woven willow woman in the orchard. Although I am going to have to finish learning to drive soon as I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be able to convince him he wants to drive everywhere, I think the novelty of him being able to drive may start to wear off!

Coming up on the blog next week are three wonderful guest posts where Donna, Layla and Louise talk about the books they’re looking forward to getting their hands on during August! If you’d like to take part in September or beyond drop me an email or message me on twitter!
