Good afternoon!
First off it’s July! It’s crazy that we’ve passed the halfway point of the year, it also means that I’ve now been blogging for 6 months! Time flies!
I started my blog back on 1st January whilst feeling particularly sorry for myself, unfortunately it wasn’t self-inflicted as I’d spent the couple of days leading up to New Year’s feeling unwell so no alcohol at all was consumed! In the 6 months since:
- I’ve gained 130 followers – which I still think is crazy!
- Published 169 posts
- Had nearly 3,500 views and 1,500 visitors from over 55 countries
- I’ve read 49 books – Caught up on books I’ve been meaning to read for a while, read some wonderful new released by authors I love, and discovered some fabulous new ones!
- I’ve also connected with a load of wonderful fellow bloggers across social media – All my links are in the side bar >>> Feel free to add me and come and say hi!
It’s been a good week for me, work-wise I’m starting to feel more accepted by the rest of the team and been a bit more included in some of the work chat. Also it was payday! I went to have a look at some of the sales but looks like I missed the best of it, although I did pick up a pair of shoes – I tried on a few things I liked the look of in New Look unfortunately none of it looked as good on as it did on the hanger! I did however walk out of Waterstones on Princes Street with 6 new books, I then picked up another 2 in WHSmith Books on Friday. I’ve ordered a couple of Harry Potter bookmarks from Etsy so I’m looking forward to them arriving!
The Authors for Grenfell finished on Tuesday and it’s done incredibly well, I was gutted I fell asleep after work and was outbid at the last-minute so I missed out, but the wonderful book loving community did incredibly!
Look what you’ve done, you wonderful people. And payments are still coming in.#authorsforgrenfell pic.twitter.com/eoyfb1TcLM

I’m looking forward to next week, I have a team night out with my old team on Friday that was planned before I moved over, we’ve going clay pigeon shooting, which should be interesting, then we’re going for dinner and cocktails. Also my Round-Robin will be starting, I’m just waiting on a couple of addresses and then I’ll be sending out the details, I’m really looking forward to sending out my book and receiving my first one!

Was so inspired by your Waterstones moment, I had one of my own. 😉 Four books came home, with Piglettes on order. Also majorly tempted by some Fantastic Beasts PJs in Primark. There was some super-cute bedding too – torn between unicorn-kitty and Marauders’ Map. I’m the wrong side of 25, but what can I say? They make it for double beds.

Oh I nearly came out of Primark with some HP homeware – I avoided most of the clothing areas as I thought I’d be too tempted.
I really wanted the happiness can be found in the darkest of places Dumbledore quote light but they didn’t have it 😦
What books did you pick up?

The Power by Naomi Alderman, Beyond the Bright Sea by Lauren Wolk, The Hundred Names for Darkness by Nilanjana Roy and The Boy who Went Magic by A.P. Winter.
I didn’t know about the light. 😮 There were some Harry Potter arrows – to Gringotts, to Diagon Alley etc.

I nearly got some! And they had some copper looking fairy lights I almost picked up. I keep wanting to do more on Instagram and feel I need some things to make pictures prettier!

I’m tidying my reading space for the same reason. My shelves are not photogenic – they’re organised by author/genre, and packed! I colour-sorted a couple of rows last night to see whether it could grow on me. It looks much nicer.

My flat doesn’t have much space for books unfortunately, I freed up a shelf for more books and arranged them last weekend, then bought 8 more this week and I don’t have space for them!
