Tuesday’s Teaser – Everything But The Truth

Teaser Tuesday is a book meme I found via Google I believe it was originally hosted on Should Be Reading but I don’t think it’s still active. Still I liked the idea so I’m going to keep it going on my blog.

The rules are simple:

• Open to a random page
• Share one or two sentences from that page
• Avoid spoilers – Pick a sentence that doesn’t give too much away

Today’s teaser comes from Everything But The Truth by Gillian McAllister. The teaser is from about halfway through the book, I copied it out of my eBook when I started reading and as I’m writing this on Monday night I’ve just finished it – I really enjoyed it. My next task will be to get the review written!

“The only time I’d ever stayed up all night was when I was paid to do it, the splintered on-call hours rushing by, distorted and confusing. This was totally different. The hours moved like honey dripping from a spoon. It was two o’clock for ages, and then three. Jack snored next to me, and all the while, I looked at him. And the worst of it was that I lay there, next to him, and my only thought, at the end of the night, was: so you are an excellent liar, after all. All those hopes I’d had.
