Welcome to my first Sunday Post! I’ve been blogging for just over a month now. I’ve picked up followers much faster than I ever expected, so hi everyone! Thanks for being interested enough in what I have to say to click that little follow button.
I’ve decided that during the week I will focus primarily on reviews and other book related posts but within my The Sunday Post I’ll talk a little more about me and my week. It’s also occured to me I’ve not really said that much about who I am so to correct that oversight I’m Sarah, I’m 29 and I live in a little town in Fife called Inverkeithing, there’s really not a lot to do here but it is really well located for commuting into my job in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is the most gorgeous city, unfortunately I don’t work in the pretty bit. I work in procurement for the NHS; procurement sounds dull but in reality I get to help health boards all over Scotland manage some really big important pieces of equipment. I love my job but this week has been manic, so many meetings as well as my normal day to day tasks. It’s meant really long days and not as much time reading as I would have liked. I did make up for it a bit this weekend though!
A little bit more about me:
- I’m originally from Devon, down on the beautiful south west coast of the UK
- I studied psychology and politics at the University of Dundee
- My last job was working with diamond rings
- I love reading – obviously I started a book blog
- My favourite genre is crime fiction, perhaps not surprising I found myself living in prime Scottish Crime territory
- I’m branching out now I’m spending more time reading so I’ve already read more chick lit and YA this year.
If anyone has any other questions let me know below
As I mentioned this week has been manic so I’ve not read as much as I would have liked, I finished Sirens by Joseph Knox – you can find a link to my review below, I absolutely loved it, dark but fabulous! I also read The Fifth Letter by Nicola Moriarty which I liked but didn’t love like I wanted to, I’ll be posting a review in a couple of weeks so keep an eye out if you’re interested.
This week I received a copy of Me and Mister P by Maria Farrer which I won in a giveaway run by Chelle, I was also approved for a few books on Netgalley, He Said/She Said, One Of Us Is Lying and The Roanoke Girls so I’m looking forward to reading them over the coming months.
Tonight I took part in my first Sunday YA! I’ve been meaning to for the past month but kept forgetting the time until it was almost over so thanks everyone for the lovely chat and the recommendations! Feel free to add more in the comment section below.
I’m going to finish my weekend by watching Superbowl LI, or at least some of it, it’s something I used to watch with my dad when I was younger so it makes me feel close to him even if we’re now 600 miles apart!

Welcome to the Sunday Post! I remember seeing One Of Us Is Lying on Netgalley or somewhere and thinking that sounds really good. Looking forward to that one.
I’ve always thought Edinburgh sounded like a fabulous city.

It does sound great, its release date isn’t until June so that pushes it down by TBR a bit, I’ve got quite a few books from NetGalley with earlier release dates but I might end up sneaking it in earlier.
I adore Edinburgh. I live just over the bridge so I have the best of both worlds, 20 minutes on the train straight into the centre and its wonderful mix of old and new. I get to experience all the festivals and the Christmas markets but at the same time I’ve somewhere to escape to when it all gets a bit mad!
