Every year there are some books I look forward to coming out, mainly the latest in a series I’ve been reading, or I see something in a bookshop or online and think I must read that. Every year I get around to reading a couple of them, mainly because I’ve forgotten about something I’ve read about and thought oh I must pick that up.
This year with this blog I’ve decided to create a list of the books I’m looking forward to, mainly for me to have something to look back on when I’m thinking about what to read next. Below are some of the books due to be published this year (some maybe paperback versions), some are debuts, some are the latest in a series I’ve been reading and others are stand alone books from already established authors. I’ll keep it updated as more books are announced. I can’t promise I’ll read them all but any I do I’ll review.
There’s also a few literary milestones / anniversaries this year that are inspiring me to re-read somethings I’ve read before.
- 26th June – 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone was first published. (20 years already?! – This makes me feel so old!)
- 18th July – The bicentenary of the death of Jane Austen. I’ll probably re-read Pride and Prejudice
- 14th October – 125 years since The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was published
I’ve linked to the book’s Goodreads page – Leave me a comment and let me know if any of them interest you, or what else is due out this year that excites you.
Wing Jones by Katherine Webber; You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine by Alexandra Kleeman; The Secret Livers Of The Amir Sisters by Nadiya Hussain; The Dry by Jane Harper; Little Deaths by Emma Flint; and Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
