In one of my previous posts I mentioned the fact I was lucky enough to have been able to take the whole festive period off work, being in Scotland meant I got an extra bank holiday meaning I didn’t have to go back to the office until Wednesday, now it’s Friday evening and wow have I struggled with the 3 day week!
I spoilt myself slightly with almost two weeks of no early morning alarms and letting myself wake up when my body decided to wake up. For most of that period this was sometime after 10am – Christmas morning and Boxing Day being the exceptions but early morning cozies with my honorary nephew made up for that. So far I’ve avoided switching back on the early alarm (6am, I realise this is probably late for some but I am definitely a night owl and not a morning person) but I know from Monday it really needs to go back on, lots of meetings to prepare for and travel to.
My employer has a flexi-time system in place. As long as we are in the office when required for meetings etc we can basically set our own hours any time between 7am and 7pm, we just have to make sure over a 4 week period we average out to whatever our contracted hours are. This is great for emergencies, or just wanting to take an afternoon to go shopping or to meet a friend for a late lunch. Not so great for someone who loves their bed too much like me, and finds it far too easy to think I don’t have to be in the office for 9am, I’ll just have another 10 minutes.
So my aim for Monday morning: to actually get up with my 6am alarm, make it into the office early and then survive the first full working week of 2017 – Wish me luck!
On another note as a new blogger I have just discovered WordPress’s First Friday post, somewhere were new bloggers can post a link to their first post, get a little exposure and perhaps some advice from people who have been doing it a bit longer. So if you’re new maybe add a link in the comments, if you’re not so new maybe check out a few links, you never know what you might find!

Yep I can relate to that (as I’m still exciting reading other people’s blog when I should be asleep. I’m going to regret it in the morning when my alarm goes off!)

I was reading in bed and was so close to the end I decided I just needed to finish, ended up reading a little longer than I’d meant to. Luckily nothing to get up for this morning. I hope your alarm wasn’t too bad this morning!
